Where Do They Live?

Our Ancona ducks enjoy an open 1/2-acre, predator-safe area where they are free to roam 24/7, along with a 4x8 "quack house" with clean bedding, and a 300-gallon pond for quick swims whenever they want.

What Do They Eat?

We know that what we feed our ducks matters since the eggs they produce end up on our plate.

Our ducks daily diet includes live bugs, worms, and grubs, plus various natural grasses and green vegetables from our garden. In addition, our ducks have lots of fresh water as they openly graze on our presticide-free, herbicide-free property. If they wish to supplement their diet, we provide them 24/7 access to a premium, non-GMO, certified organic blend of feed formulated for ducks. To summarize, they eat what they want, when they want — because thriving ducks produce the best tasting eggs!

How Do The Eggs Taste?

With its strong outer shell, our duck eggs feature a large, deep golden, creamy yolk, and thick whites.

Bakers love duck eggs due to their high protein and fat content — far more than chicken eggs — which gives baked goods more moisture, richness, and lift. Beyond eating the eggs ourselves, and baking with them, we've recently enjoyed them as a main ingredient in our homemade quiche and frozen custard.

Some individuals who are sensitive or allergic to chicken eggs have reported that they can eat duck eggs with no problems, largely due to the differences found in the duck egg white proteins.

The cooking and baking quantity ratio between duck eggs and chicken eggs is typically 2:3 — two duck eggs is equivalent to three chicken eggs. When purchasing a dozen duck eggs, it's like you are getting 18 chicken eggs. What a bargain!
